Rajaji Tiger Reserve is a major protected wildlife sanctuary nestled in the Shivalik foothills of the Himalayas, spanning across the Haridwar, Dehradun, and Pauri Garhwal districts of Uttarakhand, India. Formed in 1983 by merging the Rajaji, Motichur, and Chilla sanctuaries—and notified as a Tiger Reserve in 2015—the park covers roughly 820 square kilometers of core forest area (over 1,070 square kilometers including buffer zones).
