Winter Wild Haven 2021

Snow on the ground is never a reason to stay indoors, not when you can enjoy winter camping. Need an adventure or a quiet getaway? A winter landscape offers campers solitude, inspiration, natural quiet, and a vast playground to explore winter adventures you never thought you could do.

The purpose of the Winter wild haven is to educate, collaborate and celebrate everything Winter! Winter campers and enthusiasts from around the region come together to share ideas and show off new creations which aid in the adventures of winter outdoor activities. From cold camping to bonfires from kite sailing to building your snow empire, from arctic adventures to sleeping in cozy tents, from gear swaps to a chili feed, this event covers it all! Join us for a long weekend of camaraderie and exploration.

Tired of the same old, dance and drink till you drop- Christmas plan every year? Avoid the bustle of the city and try something different this year. Bring in this Christmas, under the stars as the sound of a live band’s music wafts through the air.
For this Christmas Event, Winter Wild Haven brings you an immersive camping experience spanning 2 nights and 3 days, packed with adventure, music, games, and festivities! Oh and don’t be surprised if you get back to your mundane life with a few new friends you make while camping with us.

Itinerary

Day 1 (24th December)

• Good ol’ partners, for those of you who are up for a little adventure!
• Engage in a friendly competition with your fellow campers during our fun team
  games called ‘HEAD ON!’
• Munch on some delicious meals and barbecue by the bonfire, nestled between swaying trees over feet of snow.
• Movie in the night, follow up by activities & light music.

Day 2 (25th December) Merry Christmas

• Starting with the breakfast, Unwind at our very own campground over board games.
  Oh, and….That’s right- snow cannonball time! Or you could just relax and enjoy the Live Music & listen to some of your favorite tunes.
• Party well into the Christmas carols with some amazing music. Huddle up by the bonfire and satiate that ravenous appetite of yours! Dj party till 10 pm, follow up live music.

Day 3 (26th December)

• Breakfast, followed by check-out from the campsite by 11:30 a.m.
• Enjoy Christmas in the presence of good company and the outdoors...sounds great, isn’t’ it?
• Memories with a new sense of calm!

Inclusions:

• Accommodation for 2 nights in Sharing basis.
• Live music + DJ party
• Permit Fee of any kind.
• All camping equipment during the event including tent, sleeping bag & mattress, etc.
• All meals during the event (vegetarian + non – vegetarian) Food would be sumptuous with exotic pahadi dishes.
• Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner for Day 1, 2, 3rd day till Breakfast.
• Team building Games on snow.
• BBQ ( Veg + Non-Veg)
• Am|pm Tea with cookies and mouth-watering snacks.
• Night jungle trek.
• 24×7 Customer service.

Exclusions:

• Services of a mountain guide and his assistant
• Tips, laundry, phone calls, mineral water, cold drinks, camera fee etc. Meals unless specified
• Any Medical emergency and medical expenses, if incurred Travel and travel insurance.
• Personal and incidental expenses.
• Expenses incurred due to unforeseen circumstances and delay in the schedule for reasons beyond the control of organizers.
• GST of 12%
• Anything not under the head “Inclusions”

Cold-Weather Camping Checklist (What to bring with you)

• Wool cap or synthetic cap that covers the ears.
• Warm long underwear, tops, and bottoms (thermal or duo fold suggested) Warm long sleeve shirt
• Warm sweater or jacket Windproof jacket.
• Raincoat or poncho (be sure it fits over the jacket)
• Warm pants (synthetic material that sheds water is the best)
• Wool or synthetic material socks (wear two or three pairs at once) and several spare pairs.
• Boots, loose-fitting and waterproof
• Mittens, several pairs , preferably waterproof or water-resistant
• Spare long underwear and socks to change into at bedtime (and wear the next day)
• A flashlight that works and has new batteries.

Where is Campground?

Camp – Outskirts of Manali, Himachal

We’re here with Winter wild Haven for the Tucked deep off-the-grid in the stunning mountains of Manali, you’ll find Wild Haven. This recently renovated camp has been the home to campers, and now we have the chance to experience its magic once more.

This Camp is enchanting. You’ll feel like a kid in this playground of creeks, nature groves, trails, bridges, and secret hideaways, get lost in the Redwoods and lush ferns that seem to be taken out of a fairy tale. With wilderness trails for miles through the woods, you can adventure deep into the forest to discover secret forts and late-night live music.

You’ll find plenty of space to connect and play. Enjoy the nostalgia of having bunkmates in your tents, or bring your own tent for that bit of privacy, You’ll dream deeply under the stars in your new home away from home, as the smell of campfires and sounds of sing-a-longs put you to sleep. Only 200 Miles from Chandigarh & Delhi, this epic and beautiful drive will take you worlds away from everyday life.

What are the accommodations?

We have rooms with attached Washrooms, Dormitory and all other are Alpine tents, in each sleeps a maximum of 2 campers, use common toilets, giving campers a few basic of the creature comforts of camping. Campers will be assigned for the sharing based on availability upon registration (Male, Female & Gender).

Looking for more privacy? Prefer to sleep in your own tent under the stars? Want to camp on the “outskirts” of camp? Are you someone who’s thinking, “but what if I meet someone special at the camp dance?” Or are you someone simply hoping to share your sleeping quarters with your partner (wife/ husband/ BF GF/ buddy)? We offer mixed-gender tents in camping villages/glamping fort to call home.

Food is central to weaving together community, health, history, culture, lineage, and the environment. We believe that eating mindfully, the world at large and that we can heal our body through food. This is not just a Winter Wild haven, it's a healthy getaway to feel revived.
When was the last time you ate a meal with hundreds of other people…? It’s pretty incredible. The dining hall is one of our favorite places at camp – for food, community, and of course, sing-a-longs. Some meals are family-style, some are buffet, and we mix it up with, a BBQ picnic and a surprise dinner that gives you the chance to eat under the trees

We Accommodate All Diets & Allergies

Our chef prepares with only the best, healthiest, tastiest seasonal ingredients. With an emphasis on non-GMO and natural, and as organic as we can be, we work with our chef to improve their normal menu beyond other ‘camp standards.’

Whether gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, omnivore or celiac, we ensure that all campers are full to their liking, just like being back at grandma’s house. Camp is about keeping our campers fed and nourished.
Meatlovers and animal lovers alike will enjoy our unique camp cuisine.

Camp Canteen

Campers get the munchies and need a refreshing drink to quench their thirst during free-time or after dancing barefoot in the woods to a late-night impromptu jam in the snow.

The Camp Canteen is the home of coffee, Tea, sustainable baked masala potatoes, and of course… local and refreshing on tap. It’s like the local dive-bar (but in the woods), with live music, friends, board games, bingo, open-mic, comedy and healthy happy hours.

Insurance and medical

Insurance that provides cover for emergency repatriation in case of a medical emergency is compulsory for all events. You should be aware that many standard insurance policies may not cover you adequately for all aspects of a remote expedition and so we strongly recommend that you purchase a suitably designed insurance policy.

Pre-existing medical conditions – if you have any pre-existing medical conditions please ensure you disclose this to your insurance company. We also need to know the insurance company you are traveling with, their 24-hr emergency number, and your policy number.
