Sandhan - One Day Trek And Rappelling

Grade: Easy grade for person with average fitness (impossible for unfit people)

Nestled in the heart of Bhandardara, Sandhan commonly known as “Valley Of Shadows” is well known for a technical descent through the valley. This water carved valley, which is 300 feet deep and stretches to a distance of 2 Kms, is also called “The Grand Canyon of Maharashtra”. The entire valley is surrounded by majestic Sahyadri mountains. This one day trek is a Half-descend trek till the valley opens up for descend. We will be returning to start point via same route

ITINERARY

Bus Transport / Pickup Points
Those coming by own vehicle need to reach at the meeting point Kasara, before 3.00am and follow our vehicles till trek location.
11:00 pm Saturday night : Borivli - National Park
11:15 pm : Goregaon - Oberoi Mall
11:30 pm : Andheri - WEH Metro
11:45 pm : Bandra - Kala Nagar WEH Bus Stop
12:00 am : Sion Circle
12:15 am : Chembur - Amar Mahal junction
12:30 pm : Vikhroli - JVLR EEH intersection
12:50 am : Thane - Viviana Mall
01:10 am :  Kalyan bypass
03:00 am : Kasara Meeting point

Trek Schedule

• Around 5am reach base village and have breakfast , post introduction and safety instructions we will start the trek

• Explore the the "Valley of Shadows"

• 200 Feet rappelling

• Photography session

• Lunch around 2pm

• Start return Journey around 3.30pm

• Tea break on highway around 6pm, we will reach Mumbai by 9pm depending on traffic conditions.

Note : Prior to the event around 8pm, we will be creating a whatsapp group for pickup coordination.

Exclusions:

• Any personal expenses such as soft drinks etc.

• Anything other than mentioned inclusion.

IMP : Please make sure you are physically fit to complete the event and have gone through the disclaimer and FAQ / Points to note before booking the event.

Things to carry :

• Identity proof

• Face Mask - Sanitiser

• Good reliable trekking shoes and extra pair of floaters

• Extra pair of clothes

• Torch with extra batteries (Mandatory)

• Water (minimum 2 ltrs) compulsory

• Some ready to eat food like biscuits, plum cake etc.

• Toiletries, Cap / Scarves and Sunglasses

• Haversack to put all your things

• Medicines (if you need any), Glucon D / Electrol / Enerzyl Powder (We will have a basic first aid kit with us)

Caution:

• Wear full clothes and do not use deodorant or perfume.

• Do not carry - Jholas / sling bag / Trolley bag (This is a trek, not picnic or tour )

• Avoid wearing jewelry.

• Please wear reliable shoes. Do not wear sandal, floater, chappal or ballerinas.

Covid-19 Safety

• Every member of the group (participants/leaders/ clients & staff) has to wear protective mask/face shield while talking to each other.

• The bus (if opted as transport) will be completely sanitised before picking up participants.

• Every participant is instructed to keep safe distance from other participants right from start till the end of the event.

• Every participant has to carry a sanitiser spray bottle while coming for the event and use it regularly.

• Do not share food/snacks you bring along. (we will miss this fun- Dabba Party)

• Carry additional unused mask as backup.

• It should be ascertained from the participants that they are not residing / have not traveled in a containment zone and have not come in contact with any person who was tested positive in last 14 days.

• Ascertain whether any participant has any symptoms of Influenza like illness (ILI) like fever, dry cough, weakness, severe body ache etc. at the time of beginning of activity. If it is so then he/she should be asked not to participate activity and be evacuated on medical grounds and should be asked to report to local health authority with his own expenses.

• Strictly avoid eating gutkha, pan masala, cigarette or sniffing which induces spitting, coughing or sneezing.

• Avoid touching external surfaces and touching your face when in outdoors.

• If the location of your adventure activity is crowded then be prepared to leave or wait for the crowd to disperse/for your turn.

• It is mandatory that a participant informs the organizers if he tests positive for Covid within 14 days of returning from adventure activity. It will help the organizers to inform and alert all other persons in the group, so that they can follow the medical/government norms in this regard. Here it is absolutely essential that the participant observes transparency and informs the organizers/group leaders about his Covid test results.
