Ratangad is located on the border of Ahmednagar and Thane District. It is believed to be part of Akole Taluka of Ahmednagar District. Ratangad fort is 175 kms and 185 kms away from Mumbai & Pune respectively. It is visited mostly during monsoon as many flowers in this region blossom around same time. Trek to Ratangad is fort is considered to be of Medium level as one has to counter some Water Streams and Slippery Patches to reach the top. The Eye of the Needle at the top is the main attraction of this fort.

Ratnagad also has four gates Ganesh, Hanuman, Konkan & Trimbak. One may also find numerous Wells and Water Cisterns at the top. There are also 2 caves at the top. One with the Temple and the other one is used for stay. From this point, one can view various other forts of nearby region such as Alang, Madan, Kulang, Harishchandragad & Patta Fort.

ITINERARY

Day 0

We will leave on Saturday night by 10.50 pm CST - KASARA local which reaches Kasara at 1.18 am on Sunday. Don't forget to buy return tickets of local train.

Day 1

We are Waiting for you

Meet at Kasara Railway Station at 1:30 am we will leave in our Transfer Vehicle to Ratanwadi, which is the base village of Ratangad Fort.

Fun Introduction Round

We will reach the Ratnawadi Village by 4 am. Relax for a while, freshen up and begin the trek to Ratangad around 5:30 am before a brief Fun Oriented Introduction Round.

Ratangad, here we come!

Enjoy the uphill climb to Ratangad as you drench your feet in Water Streams and Mud. Don’t forget to help your fellow trekkers in tricky situations. As the trek is of 3 hours, we will have breakfast en route.

Yay, we are here!

We will reach Ratangad fort around 8:30 am. Savour the view and the chillness of the air this fort offers. Explore the fort, its caves, its doors, Water Cisterns and Wells and the sight it provides. We will start descend by 10 am.

Lovely Rural Lunch

We will reach Ratanwadi village around 12 noon. Relax, freshen up and feast on the delicacies of Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian Dishes cooked by the villagers. Around 1:30 pm we will leave to Kasara Railway Station.
