Kalavantin Fort is famed as the ‘Climb to Heaven’, owing to its dangerous nature and the bird’s eye view of the immense beauty that waits atop. The trek to the top of the Kalavantin Durg is considered one of the most challenging ones in the Western Ghats. The route to the Kalavantin top is a roughly 60 degree incline, and involves climbing rock-cut steps that are as high as two feet. There is a series of steps leading to the top of the pinnacle, but little is known about the history of structure. According to local guides, it was built for a queen called Kalavantin in the 15th century, around the same time as the neighbouring Prabalgad. This Fort is offering gorgeous views and abundant beauty via rugged terrain with narrow rock-cut steps, steep slopes and no support whatsoever, the trek to and from the fortress is dangerous yet thrilling.

Trek Schedule:
11:30 PM Start Journey from Deccan Gymkhana towards Kalavantin Durg Fort. (08th-Jan-2021)
04:00 AM Reach at 'Thakurvadi' and start trek towards the Prabalmachi.
05:00 AM Reach at Prabalmachi and rest.
06:00 AM Freshen up. After breakfast start trek towards the Kalavantin Durg.
08:00 AM Summit Kalavantin peak, enjoy mesmerizing morning.
11:00 AM Start descending the peak.
12:00 AM Reach at Prabalmachi and rest.
01:30 PM Have freshly cooked unlimited lunch.
02:30 PM After lunch, start descending Prabalmachi.
03:30 PM Reach at ‘Thakurvadi’.
04:00 PM Start bus journey towards Pune.
08:00 PM Reach Pune.

• 50 % refund if cancellation made 5 days prior to the event.
• No refund if cancellation made less than 03 days prior to the event.

• There may not be any suitable/proper toilet or bathroom in trek route.
• We reserve all right to change/deviate/cancel the plans without any prior notice.
• In case of casual weather or government restrictions, certain schedule can be modify/cancelled and in such cases Trek Leader’s decision will be final and binding.
