Tribute to Elvis Presley by Mehmood Curmally

Mehmood was introduced to the music of Elvis Presley by his father, who ran Mumbai oldest and most renowned record store. The realization of his greatness came only when his dad walked up to him one rainy August morning with tears in his eyes told him that he had just heard over the radio that Elvis Presley was dead.

The movie release of Elvis - That The Way It Is, a compilation of Elvis 1970 legendary Las Vegas concerts is where the inspiration came from. Mehmood went to see that film no less than eight times and was mesmerized by the musical genius and stage presence of the man.

As Mehmood’s passion for singing grew, he knew the music he must perform should be that of Elvis, spanning across genres from Rock n Roll to Blues to Country to Gospel. As Mehmood says - It's like a calling. I love the man so much. If I can give audiences just one little glimpse of the power of Elvis on stage, that would make me the happiest.
