Manali to Manali : Basic Route Map:
Manali - Sissu - Sarhcu - Leh - Nubra valley - Pangong lake - Leh - Sarchu - Manali.
Day 0: Delhi – Manali (555 Km, 15 Hr)
Report at Delhi airport by 01:00 PM. (If you have chosen Delhi to Delhi)
Day 1: Manali – Rohtang La – Gramphu – Khoksar – Sissu (90 Km, 5 Hr)
Altitude range: 6,000 ft – 10,000 ft
Report at Manali Mall road by 9:00 AM (If you opted for Manali to Manali)
- You cross the very first high altitude pass i.e., Rohtang La (13,000 feet) on this day and enter the Lahaul valley leaving the Kullu valley behind.
- Sightseeing: Rohtang Pass & Sissu Waterfall
- Test drives and gradual acclimatization
- Stay: Sissu (10,000 feet)
Day 2: Sissu – Keylong – Jispa – Darcha – Baralacha La – Sarchu (140 Km, 9 Hr)
Altitude range: 10,000 ft – 14,000 ft
- Sightseeing: Confluence of Bhag River & Chenab River
- Baralacha La at 16,000 ft (One of the 5 high-passes to be covered in the road trip)
- Suraj Tal – Lake of the Sun God (Instagram link)
- Stay: Sarchu (14,000 feet) One of the highest altitudes to stay. Almost every rider fascinates about spending a night at such high altitudes.
Day 3: Sarchu – Pang – Moore Plains – Rumtse – Leh (260 Km, 8 Hr)
Altitude range: 14,000 ft – 17,500 ft
- This day is all about riding through hundreds of hairpin turns, dust trodden roads and 3 high altitude passes. 40 km of the scenic journey from Sarchu via Incredible 21 Hairpin bend climbs of Gata Loops will lead to Nakee La (3rd high altitude pass situated at 15,500 feet) and a 12 km descent will lead to Bisky Nala. Lachulung La (16,500 ft) is the 4th high altitude Himalayan Pass on Manali-Leh Highway which comes between the stretch of Whisky Nalla and Pang. It is after crossing the Tanglang La (17,500 feet) that you reach Leh.
- Gata Loops – a series of 21 hairpin bends at 15,000 ft
- Nakee la (15,500 ft), Lachulung La (16,600 ft) and Taglang La (17,500 ft)
- Moore Plains is one of the best places for photography and is a rider's paradise.

Day 4: Leh – Khardung La – Nubra Valley (160 Km, 6 Hr)
Altitude range: 11,500 ft – 10,000 ft
- The confluence point of Shyok River & Nubra River
- Khadung La, enjoy Tea at 17,582 ft.
- The pass on the Ladakh Range is north of Leh and is the gateway to the Shyok and Nubra valleys.
- Nubra Valley also known as the Valley of flowers and one of the warmest regions in Ladakh
- Stay: Nubra Valley
Day 5: Nubra valley – Pangong Tso (270 Km, 9 Hr)
Altitude range: 10,000 ft – 14,000 ft
- Camping at Pangong lake, World's highest saltwater lake and also the location of the famous movie "3 Idiots"!
- Stay: Pangong Lake
Day 6: Pangong lake – Leh (220 Km, 6 Hr)
Altitude range: 14,000 ft – 11,500 ft
- Sightseeing: Local Sightseeing & Shopping in Leh
- Stay: Leh/ Upshi/ Rumtse.
Day 7: Leh – Sarchu (255 Km, 7 Hr)
Altitude range: 11,500 ft – 14,000 ft
- Sightseeing: Moore plains, Naki La & Gata Loops
- Admire the beautiful scenic journey on the Manali Leh Highway
- Stay: Sarchu
Day 8: Sarchu – Manali (225 Km, 8 Hr)
Altitude range: 14,000 ft – 6,500 ft
- Sightseeing: Baralacha La Pass, Deepak Tal & Suraj Tal
