UNESCO Recognized South Indian Western Ghats Hills Stations, Kodachadri Hills is peak with dense forest with cloud touching chill weather. It is one of best Trekking place located in Shimoga District Karnataka. It is know as Kashmir of South India and beautiful trek trail.

Trip Itinerary:
On (Saturday)
Day 1: Starting your Journey from Bangalore Transportation (Vehicle has to be arrange according to group size), Check-in to Homestay or Room and have the Breakfast, after moving towards to Kodachadri Hills Base will start the Trekking, After reaching the peak will have the lunch and return to Base camp and back to Home stay in the evening Fire camp, Music, Dinner, overnight stay at Homestay.
On (Sunday)
Day 2: Wake up bell at 6 AM and get fresh up at the same time time Breakfast will be ready at 7.30 AM and after the Breakfast will move to Udupi Malpe beach around 3 hrs journey then reach to Malpe Beach and will play the water games (If opens) then Go to St Mary's Island (If Opens) by ferry, will enjoy there and evening back to Malpe beach, then take a shower and go for shopping and will have the local delicious sea food and return to Bangalore early in the morning.

What is the best time to go for Kodachadri Trek?
Kodachadri trekking is possible throughout the year but the best time is during winters which are between October to February. The weather during this time is pleasant and offers the best scenic beauty of the place. You will get to see the mesmerizing splendour of the lush green forests, soothing cold breeze and the hypnotic clouds during winters. The summers are a little tough as the terrain gets dried and it might get a little difficult to trek upwards. The hot weather and high humidity also make your trek unpleasant. Also, trekking during monsoons is recommended in Kodachadri because after heavy rainfalls the landscape becomes very beautiful.

Will food and safe drinking water be provided during Kodachadri Trekking?
Yes, food and water will be provided during Kodachadri trekking. We provide vegetarian food on all days. Breakfast on all 2 days is included in your package, with lunch and dinner on Day 1. The lunch on Day 2 will be self-sponsored.
Can we consume alcohol during the trek to Kodachadri?
Consuming alcohol during the trek to Kodachadri is strictly prohibited. Anyone found consuming alcohol during any point of the expedition will be barred from joining the trek. You cannot consume or carry alcohol from the moment your start from Bangalore, till the time you reach back after the trek.
How can I reach Kodachadri from Bangalore?
Pickup facility is provided to the trekkers from Bangalore to Kodachadri. We offer 3 different spots in Bangalore from where you can opt to join us. The 1st pickup is scheduled at 7:30 PM from Baroda Bank at Koramangala Water Tank, Opp. To Mr Beans – Home Café. 2nd pickup is at 8 PM from New Shanthi Sagar hotel at HAL Road, near Domlur Bridge. Last pickup is at 9 PM from MG Road near Hard Rock Cafe in Anil Kumble Signal.
What is Kodachadri famous for?
Being the highest peak of the Shimoga District in Karnataka, Kodachadri boasts of offering the most picturesque views of sunset into the Arabian Sea from the hilltop. Kodachadri is famous for “Sarvajna Peetha” which is allegedly known to be the meditation place of the great philosopher “Adi Shankaracharya”. Moola Mookambika Temple is a famous temple located at Kodachadri which is known to be the origin place of Goddess Mookambika.
The Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary is yet another famous attraction in Kodachadri which is a house to some endangered flora and fauna. It is a natural habitat for the Malabar Langur, Bison, the Emerald Pigeon, Malabar Giant Squirrel, Tiger, Python and King Cobra. Lastly, trekking has contributed to the fame of this place even more.
What is the total trek distance?
The total trek distance is 14 kilometres. It includes 7 kilometres to Kodachadri from base camp and 7 kilometres from Kodachadri to base camp. The trek is moderate and takes about 10-12 hours, depending on the condition of route, season and fitness level
Is this trek safe for Solo Travlers and Female Travelers?
The trek is completely safe for solo and female travellers. We have had many female and solo travellers in the past accompanying us fo trek. As an organization, we take care of the female and solo travellers and pay extra attention to their safety. We provide separate accommodation to men and women for their comfortable stay.
Are PickUp and Drop facilities available from Bangalore?
Yes, pickup and drop facilities are available to and from Bangalore. We provide 3 different pickup locations in Bangalore and you can choose as per your convenience. What is the batch size usually?
We have around 15-20 people in each batch which includes men, women and children. We ensure that each batch is not overcrowded so that personal attention can be given to everyone and it does not become a chaos
What are the other inclusion in the package?
Homestay accommodation is provided to the trekkers on sharing basis. Breakfast for 2 days is included in your package. Vegetarian lunch and dinner for Day 1 is all inclusive in the package. A guide is provided for your trek who will explain all the dos and don’ts before your trek and accompany you throughout your trekking expedition. Permits are provided by us wherever needed. Pickup and drop facilities to and from Bangalore are included in your package.
What are the places we will cover during our Kodachadri trek?
You will begin your trek around 8 AM of Day 1 from the base camp. One your way, you will cover Kumble Village which is a small picturesque village with welcoming people. As you trek, you will cover the beautiful and famous Hidlumane Waterfalls which is one of the most eminent tourist attractions in Kodachadri. This fall is not just a single waterfall but a chain of seven surging waterfalls.
Each of the waterfalls is a true beauty in itself which is veiled from the gushing fall. Hidlumane Waterfalls is around 60 feet high and making your way through each one of them is an enthralling experience. All your efforts are rewarded for the remarkable views it offers as you move up. The touch of pristine water falling over your exhausted bodies is like a therapy, to be precise. You will spend some time in the cool shower of this waterfall and capture the immortal beauty forever.
As you trek ahead, you will pass through the dense forest and meadows which are simply beautiful. After this, you will trek to the Kodachadri Peak which is your final destination. The panoramic view from the peak is truly breathtaking. Experience the most stunning sight of sunset from the peak which shows a gorgeous colourful sky with the sun dipping into the gigantic Arabia Sea. The thick forests, glittery sea, beautiful landscape and the vivid sky is lovely and makes all your efforts worthwhile by all means.
Spend some time in the peak and then trek down to the basecamp. Start your day 2 early with your breakfast and pack your bags to begin with the next destination. The next place that you will cover is the famous Nagara Fort. Build during the 16th Century, the remains of this place still holds the essence and old charm of the heritage of those times. The stunning sight of the Fort as you go closer in bus holds on to your eyes. Nagara Fort is not a huge fort, but there is surely something special about this place which will leave you mesmerized. Enjoy the fabulous views from the fort top. Laze around and explore the remains of the fort.
See the well and small caves which were used as the safe exit for royal families. Playing around these tiny caves is a great way to spend some time with your new trek friends. Walk through the grassland and adore the beauty of the backdrop. The choices are numerous and fun is unlimited. After this, have a self-sponsored lunch and commence your journey from Kodachadri to Bangalore with loads of fun and heaps of memories.
