Gandikota And Belum Caves

Gandikota

Gandikota is a fort built in 12th Century with red granite stones. The fort is protected by deep gorge on one side, which is quite long with big boulders scattered all around it. The place is fondly called as Grand Canyon of India.

Belum Caves

Belum Caves is the second largest and longest cave system open to public in Indian subcontinent. Over time, it has been discovered that Buddhist and Jain monks inhabited this place. You can find a natural stream flowing inside the cave.

Yaganti Temple

Yaganti Temple, also known as the Cave Temple, as it houses 3 big caves in its premises. It houses a Nandi Statue which is continuously increasing in size! The temple staff has already removed one pillar as the size of Nandi had increased!

Overnight travel to Gandikota from Bangalore/Hyderabad

Day 1 (Saturday): Gandikota

  • Freshen up, explore the fort, trek to the base of the river
  • Explore nearby waterfall
  • At night, enjoy with rest of the group over camp fire
  • Stay Overnight in Tent/Hotel

Day 2 (Sunday): Belum Caves

  • After yummy breakfast, leave for Belum Caves
  • Explore Belum Caves
  • Have lunch and proceed towards Yaganti Temple
  • Reach Bangalore/Hyderabad
