I am sure as a kid secretly you all wanted to be a prince or a princess. What if I tell you that you can relive your childhood dream to live in a castle? This place in Bangalore has it all; from ambience to all the world class facilities that defines opulence and royalty.

I am talking about Jaymahal Palace, located at Jaymahal Road, Bangalore. There is a range of facilities that you can enjoy here, be it swimming, table tennis or volley ball.

History:

Built in the year 1903, by a British citizen Jaymahal Palace is currently owned by Maharaja Jyotendrasinhji Vikramsinhji of Gondal, Gujarat of Jadeja dynasty. He is the 16th Maharaja of Gondal, the princely state in Saurashtra.

The palace was once a symbol of opulence and royalty, the heritage hotel takes you to the glorious past of royalty of the Indian Kings and princes. The Maharaja is a sports car racing enthusiast and had participated in many competitions both in India and abroad. The Jaymahal Palace has a Formula III Bar, as a tribute to Maharaja.

Formula III is an automobile themed bar. The ambience and décor of this place reflect Maharaja Jyotendrasinhji’s passion for racing. The walls of the bar have numerous photos of the Maharaja and his cousins from their days in the past as a racer.

The wheels for table stands coasters with the car and the couches like chequered racing flags, the look and feel of this bar would definitely make you appreciate racing as a sport. Sip a beer at this chic royal bar only at 150 bucks at this royal bar! The pitchers are 400 bucks and towers only for 800 bucks. Isn’t that pocket-friendly?

Apart from the chic bar, you can chill in the swimming pool spending a lazy afternoon. Set up in the new wing of the palace, this pool is not a typical Olympic sized pool. Enjoy this for only 400 bucks. Seems a great bargain!

The Palace has two restaurants Gallops and Golden. Golden has a garden ambience and the experience is great.

Apart from the swimming pool the palace also has a gym, garden and jogging tracks. The palace has a banquet hall that can house around 200 people. Do visit this place and let me know how you did like this.
