About the Artist -
Abhijit is a multi-faceted dancer hailing from Bangalore with more than 10 years of teaching experience.
As an IT professional full time, he decided to start pursuing his passion and this led him from being a student to a trained instructor.
Kizomba is a dance form which finds its roots in Africa. It literally translates to “party”. This dance form is performed by couples and is enjoyed by the young and old alike. Abhijit started learning Salsa and bachata from 2006 but found his calling when he first ventured into Kizomba. He obtained his teachers training certificate from Nelson Campos and now goes by the name Abhi Kizombero.
His love for the dance form led him to Paris in 2008 where he started learning from Tony Pirata. Eventually he attended workshops with well-known names in the industry like Albir Rojas, Sophie Fox, Sara Lopez, Davide and Laura, Kaytee, etc. He has also conducted workshops in countries like Germany, Spain and Italy. Abhikizombero does not restrict himself to a dance form and also teaches Salsa and Bachata.
He constantly strives to spread his love for dancing and is always learning while he travels. His enthusiastic approach inspires students. The KizombaBachata club in Bangalore, started by Abhijit, has many followers in India and Abroad.
