Feel a touch of rock, a dash of disco, a hint of blues, a shout of pop and a pinch of electronica and out comes ‘Best Kept Secret’. A band that has a huge craze in music loving youth across the country. “May I add, from abroad as well,” suggests Behram the lead vocalist of the band.
A few years old, Best Kept Secret is the outcome of a ‘One Night Stand.’ “One night stands are always the best kept secret,” laughs Behram, adding “In reality we were born from what was supposed to be one gig for a friend’s cocktail party before his wedding. Since we (the four band members) didn’t know each other, we were to play for just that one time, we thought of calling ourselves One Night Stand,” laughs Behram. Berham elaborates, “We had problems with the name; the copyright was with an International DJ so we had to change ours. But we didn’t change it on our own. We did a radio contest and picked this one from a suggestion of 1200 names.”
This band from Bangalore which now does over 100 shows a year will be in town for the anniversary of Olive Bistro. What makes music of the band hard to resist is their ability to surprise an audience and keep them engaged till the end of the show. Known for their lively performances, it’s also recognised as one of India’s most successful young bands.
