Johnson Patrick makes music with unusual pizzaz. Once he gets behind the console, he effortlessly wraps himself around varying beats and belts out mixes that get his audience gyrating animatedly. Johnson’s spectacular talent stems from rhythmic instincts and a self-taught craft. Spreading his musical wings from not too long ago, Johnson’s journey began on one of those dreamy afternoons, the experience of a DJ mixing music and enthralling the crowd mesmerized him. Johnson’s own initial break came via an invitation to play at Le Rock, Bangalore by Ashish Kothari. Le Rock’s library of artists, memorabilia, videos, and ambiance altogether created the perfect atmosphere for the budding DJ to fall in love with classic rock.

Armed with new wings, Johnson began mixing retro and classic rock at 1522 – The Pub by Chethan Hegde, on Monday evenings. This proved to be a great start for him and he was soon mixing on weekends for other resto-bars and pubs as well. Then a big venue like Opus by Carlton Braganza happened to him. He had the best Sunday nights of his carrier. Today, Johnson has emerged as an artist to be reckoned with and that’s because he doesn’t stop at being a DJ. He hosts club nights in addition to mixing at prominent hotspots for nightlife. Johnson’s rapid success entails extensive travel and he has spun the decks in Goa, Chennai, Mumbai and more to play at some of the best clubs in India. 

Johnson consummately weaves old and new genres into his music, including Bollywood at times. He draws influence from retro, rock, hip-hop, deep house and techno. Music stalwarts have inspired his commitment towards his art. He takes entertainment to interesting levels by creating unique audio-visual experiences mixed with parody. Johnson is now learning to produce. His future goal is to be an artist in the true sense, bringing his own original tunes to the deck.
