One of the best day hikes in Uttarakhand, the trail to Tungnath Mandir (3680m) and Chandrashila Peak (4000m) features a sacred Panch Kedar temple and a stunning Himalayan panorama.

The trail starts at Chopta, a small village with no electricity, which is found on the winding road between Chamoli (south of Joshimath) and Kund (south of Gaurikund). A well-paved path switchbacks 3.5km uphill, gaining 750m in elevation, to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world. A dirt trail continues 1.5km further to the top of Chandrashila.

From the summit, the Garhwali and Kumaoni Himalaya stretch out before you, with awesome vistas of major mountains including Nanda Devi, Trishul, and the Kedarnath group. Start early before the clouds move in, or head up in the afternoon, stay at one of the spartan guest houses around Tungnath and hit Chandrashila for sunrise.

22nd Dec: Chopta Arrival | Acclimitization

- Depart from Delhi at 9:30 pm on 21st Dec from Akshardham Metro Station.

- Drive through the mountains to reach Chopta.

- On the way, stop by at Devprayag Sangam followed by a pit stop at Srinagar for breakfast.

- Check-in to the camps and freshen up.

- Post lunch, relax in the lap of nature.

- By evening, head out for an acclimatization trek to the nearby village.

- Bonfire, Dinner, and overnight at the campsite.

23rd Dec: Trek to Tungnath | Chandrashila

- Post breakfast, start the trek through the untouched beautiful meadows to the world's highest abode of Shiva at Tungnath.

- Continue further on a steep trek to reach the summit of Chandrashila at 4000mts.

- Witness a 360°of the snowcapped peaks of Uttarakhand like Nanda Devi, Trishul etc

- Trek down to Chopta and overnight at the campsite.

24th Dec: Trek to Deoria Taal | Rishikesh

- After breakfast, check out from the campsite and drive to Sari village.

- Start the trek to Deoriataal. It will be a short steep hike to the pristine lake surrounded by stunning snowcapped mountains like the massive Chaukhamba.

- Trek down to Sari and start the drive to Rishikesh.

- Check-in to the camps and spend the evening chilling at the Bonfire.

25th Dec: River Rafting | Cafe Hopping | Departure

- Prepare yourself for the ultimate adventure of white water rafting in the Ganges.

- Experience the thrill of Cliff jumping and body surfing.

- Explore the local market of Rishikesh and try the amazing food at the local Cafe's.

- Departure for Delhi to reach by next morning.

Transfer of your bookings to other persons are not allowed, name mentioned at the time of confirmation are the only person will be allowed to travel.
Full payment of the trip cost has to be paid before the trip starts, pending payments may lead to cancellation of your trip.

Any given inclusion not availed by the client will not be refunded in any case.
Management shall not take responsibility for missing items during the trip, travellers have to take care of there luggage and belongings.
AC will be switched off on hills and during the waiting time. Also, during the trip, it will be driver’s discretion for putting off AC if the road and travel doesn’t support. This is for traveller's safety as the route can be dangerous and the vehicle may not be able to pull offload with AC running.
Departure time is given and is fixed. You have to report by that time, it’s on you to update your status to trip coordinator. Anyone missing the bus will not be entertained for refund etc and it will not be WanderOn’s responsibility. We will try to call you twice before departure.
We do not provide any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft or any other reason.
We shall not be responsible for any delays and alterations in the programme or expenses incurred-directly due to natural hazard, accident, and breakdown of machinery, equipment’s, transport, weather condition, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.
