FEATURED ARTIST for the evening: The Neel Sarkar Project(NSP) (Shantiniketan):
Neel Sarkar is a classically trained Indian music composer and instrumentalist. The band has been featured by French cultural centre 'Alliance du Francais' in India for their last album and tour project Zikr which was released by Amuze Records.
The Rohan Ganguli Quartet (Kolkata): Rohan is a guitar player and composer with no boundaries regarding style or form of music. Come with an open mind and decide for yourself where the music takes you. Shonai (kolkata): Arunava Chatterjee aka Shonai, is the faculty head of Piano in Calcutta School of Music and an outstanding piano player from this part of the country. The Bodhisattwa Trio (Kolkata): Is a renowned avant-garde Jazz-Rock trio endorsing brands like Fender, Sonor, Remo.
Their last album 'Heart Of Darkness' which is recorded and released by Amuze Records was featured in top 10 best releases from India in 2016 by international magazine Rolling Stone India. Also that album was a critically acclaimed album in Jazz from India last year.
Syncopation (Delhi): This is a Delhi based Funk/Jazz/Blues trio featuring guitarist/composer Rishie Sachdeva with drummer Nikhil Vasudevan and bassist Jayant Manchanda. Their band is a critically famous band for their style of music in and outside India.
About The Foxtrot Project: Record label Amuze founder Arijit Chakraborty, a photographer, and sound engineer reached out to jazz artists and bands in 2014 and began recording bands in a live setting in April 2015 for a compilation called The Foxtrot Project.
The album was released in December 2015. This year Arijit is starting the continuation of the project after seeing it soaring successfully and getting appreciated by many. The project this time will not be limited to the release of a compilation CD but also include a multi-city tour across Indian sub-continent.
