Skandagiri, formerly known as Kalwarbetta or Kalavara Durga, stands as a majestic mountain fortress roughly 70 km away from Bangalore. The journey to its summit is both challenging and incredibly rewarding, weaving through breathtaking wilderness.

Embark from Bangalore and make your way to the base point to kickstart the sunrise trek. As you ascend, you'll be enveloped in a serene and awe-inspiring atmosphere that's bound to fuel your adrenaline. Covering a distance of 8 km, the trek typically spans around 4 hours, encompassing both the ascent and descent. Whether you're a novice or an experienced trekker, this moderately difficult trail promises an exhilarating experience.

The path becomes more demanding as you approach the Papagni Temple, navigating through rugged terrains amidst dense shrubbery. From here, expect a challenging climb that might require some nimble footwork until you reach the summit.

At the pinnacle, you'll discover the remnants of Tipu Sultan’s fortress and the remnants of an abandoned fort. Skandagiri is renowned for offering the rare experience of walking above the clouds, granting you a literal taste of the heavens. Whether you seek adventure, history, or simply the beauty of nature, Skandagiri promises an unforgettable journey.

Itinerary

Day 0:

11:30 PM: Depart from Bangalore on an overnight journey.

Day 1:

Arrive at a private cafe (if open) and relax for an hour.
3:30 AM: Arrive at the base camp, the starting point of the trek.
5:30 AM: Reach the peak and witness the breathtaking sunrise.
Explore the lush surroundings and soak in the panoramic views.
7:30 AM: Begin the descent back to the base camp.
9:00 AM: Enjoy a hearty breakfast.
Start the return journey to Bangalore.
11:30 AM: Arrive back in Bangalore.

Persons suspected of carrying items that may be used in an offensive or dangerous manner, or carrying out illegal activities within the site may be searched.

In certain circumstances, HighApe reserves the right to cancel the tickets owing to any internal reason which requires such action. In such cases, the customer will be provided full refund for the ticket within 7-10 working days.
