Recognisable faces in the Indian electronic music scene, the brother-duo Audio Units meld their experience as founders at the acclaimed ‘Beatworx Studio’ in India. Ashrith, a certified Ableton Trainer and Ashwin, a DJ since 2004, have produced a catalog of music finding it’s way into a manifold of styles between deep house and techno.
A palette with the soul of analog synths, digital quirks and colourful patch cables, Audio Units have created a globally recognised art form delivering ground breaking hybrid, vinyl and DJ sets across clubs, festivals and afterparties. With our 2 million plays on Spotify, and a plethora of original music in their sets, you’d never walk into a “bar” that Audio Units loop for hours.
Delika has been a music lover since she was very young and always found it to be therapeutic. While growing up, she had several phases where she listened to the entire evolution of electronic music in the 90’s.
Being a flight attendant and travelling the world, she got the opportunity to go to several clubs internationally. She has been influenced by sounds of John Digweed, Sasha, James Zabiela. It was after her solo trip to Berlin in 2017 she realised that it was finally time for her to quit her aviation job and pursue being a DJ.
With so many varied influences from her travels and experiences, she likes to categorically place her sound in a space between deep house and melodic techno with appearances at Blue bar, Kitty Ko, Puma Shuffle and Foxtrot billed on the same line up as big international acts Adana Twins, Danito & Athina and more.
Mental Machine aka Shruthdev's musical journey is driven by curiosity and no small measure of pure passion for music. Regularly venturing off the beaten track, he finds and incorporates sparks of inspiration from little-known gems. Also being the co-founder of Housefly Network he has been an integral part of Bangalore’s Underground culture and has hosted some of the most memorable nights.
Mental Machine is just a reflection of his persona, but only in context to the music! Having been active since 2012, he’s explored a gamut of sounds from early classic house, breakbeats, electro and more recently melodic techno.
With impeccable taste and crate digging skills, his sets are an intricate blend of interesting rhythms, deep bass lines and harmony. Having shared the stage with the likes of Victor Ruiz, Fathia, Tom Trago, La Fleur, Brian Cid, Patrice Baumel, Mathame, Etap Kyle across Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Goa.
Oddible is a Techno duo based in Bangalore, India. A collaborative project between Alex and Zain.
Having been working together since just April 2019, Oddible already has 5 releases on all major streaming platforms, with 3 tracks having been signed to multiple record labels. Production-wise, Oddible (for now) specializes in after-hours sounds, hard hitting and full of energy. Audio-visual sets are a forte too.
Expect to hear fresh sounds almost every month, as Oddible continues to rise rapidly through the proverbial ranks, slowly becoming a household name everywhere they perform.
Tanvi started clubbing at a time when the music genuinely had soul and emotion, which reflects back in the form of her musical taste and appreciation. Her tryst with mixing music began at an early age of 11 when she got her first pair of decks and started to experiment with various amalgamations of the music available at her disposal at that time and has never looked back since then. Music, it was.
Like all things fine, her compassion for music arose out of the need to constantly improvise, innovate and think forward. Sculpting her taste over the years since the first time she acquainted with the recent upbringings in the various styles/sub-genres of music, she’s come a long way from listening to Retro, Soul, Jazz & Blues taking influences along the way and helping her define her technique on the recent nuances of House and Techno and everything in between. This makes delivering a stellar performance with a sublime blend of all genres as easy as 1, 2, 3 and 4.
When sounds move minds, which in turn feed the soul inspiration, it’s inevitable to think with anything but sounds.
Afterworx, an off-shoot of Beatworx Studio was formed with a motive to nurture the burgeoning electronic music scene in India. We curate weekly properties and nights across venues in associations with other local crew brewing a melting pot of great music, ambience and experience.
Music has always been the primary motivation and backbone here at Beatworx studio, we see ourselves as a collective of free thinkers, who strive to propagate art from diverging fields.
Founded by Ashwin and Ashrith(Audio Units) in 2012 who have been at the backdrop of the music scene for over a decade, our team here at Beatworx has grown organically, providing a platform for our fellow students as a closely-knit community bound together by an undying passion for music.
