Bengaluru International Arts Festival -  Folk Music from Rajasthan

Sufi music, originating from the Sufi saints of the Sindh and surrounding regions, has gained immense popularity in the recent times. From classics of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to the chart toppers of Runa Laila and the likes, Sufi has carved a niche for itself, even as a popular choice for Bollywood films. Another related form of music is the lilting and popular genre of Ghazal Sangeet.

This evening will showcase some of the best-remembered ghazals and popular Sufi numbers, both Bollywood and non - Bollywood. From the philosophy of the Sufi saints to the foot-tapping tunes of contemporary Sufi, the songs promise a wide variety and range of entertainment to connoisseurs alike.
