Shoonya and Basav Biradar invite you to the first public screening of the documentary film - BEFORE THE THIRD BELL. The film maker and the theatre makers from Indian Ensemble will be present for a short discussion after the screening. 

Synopsis of the film:

The film 'Before the Third Bell' explores contemporary theatre making in India through documenting the creative processes of Muktidham-a play written and directed by Abhishek Majumdar.

In the current 'digitally connected' world, What does professional theatre mean? In today's social, economical and political context, what does it take to create a collective voice in theatre?

How does a theatre company approach collaborations and how do artists with different ideas and sensibilities come together to create a piece of theatre? These are some of the questions the film explores while following the creative journey of Muktidham over a period of four months.

Basav Biradar is a Bangalore based theatre maker and documentary film maker with a keen interest in history and archiving.
