GERARD MACHADO: Guitar / Vocals
Gerard started playing the guitar at the tender age of six. He is an accomplished Jazz guitarist. His style of guitar playing is a unique blend of Jazz, Rock and Blues styles. A fine musician, he has worked & collaborated with many famous musicians for several years in India and abroad.
He comes from a musical family who were known as The Vonn Trapp Family of Mangalore. He is a fine composer,producer & arranger and has recorded many Jingles for advertising companies and has scored music for Animation films. He has conducted Jazz workshops for corporate companies and has scored the music for an English feature film called the “Out House”.
Gerard has also experimented with Indian classical 'Carnatic' music and has released albums titled ‘Clean Licks’ and ‘Touch another Life’ in collaboration with Veena Vidushi Dr Suma Sudhindra. He has released Jazz/Rock/Fusion Albums called “SPECTRUM” and “CADENCIA”.
He has also recorded several Gospel Albums. He has performed for the prestigious “Jazz Yatras”. He has his own recording studio where he produces music. He leads his bands - “The Gerard Machado Network” and “The Gerard Machado Trio”. The band’s forte is straight ahead Jazz incorporating the Blues, Funk, Rock, Latin & Indian Rhythms.
