Gorakhgad Trek

Gorakhgad is quite small in size. Gorakhgad had strategic importance during the reign of Shahaji Raje. However, no major battle is recorded to have taken place here. It was used in Shivajis era to patrol the nearby region and was used as a stopover station during the journey to Junnar via Naneghat. Though small in size, there is enough availability water and a lot of space for accommodation. The fort gets its name from Saint Gorakhnath, who performed his Sadhana in this place. Gorakhgad attracts trekkers due to its inviting pinnacle this region of Gorakhgad and Machhindragad has a dense forest cover. Gorakhgad is a small fort at Dehri village near Murbad. Named after Saint Goraknath, the fort is at a height of 2150 ft above sea level.

  • 6:30 am Thane Nitin company junction
  • 9:00 am Reach Base Village
  • 9:30 am Tea in base village
  • 10:00 am Introduction Round and start the trek
  • 13:00 pm reach on the top and had lunch
  • 14.00 pm Reach Start Descending
  • 16:30 pm reach to base village
  • 17:00 pm move to Mumbai

Covid Safety Guidelines

  • Stay at home if you are feeling unwell.
  • Maintain at least 1 meter distance from others.
  • Cover a sneeze or cough with a tissue or bent elbow, and immediately dispose of tissue in a closed-lid bin. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Wash/sanitiser your hands frequently.
  • Each member of the group (participants/leaders/ clients & staff) wears protective mask while on interaction with each other. Do carry few unused, disposable masks.
  • It should be ascertained from the participants that they are not residing / have not travelled in a containment zone and have not come in contact with any person who was tested positive in last 14 days.
  • Ascertain whether any participant has any symptoms of Influenza like illness (ILI) like fever, dry cough, weakness, severe body ache etc. at the time of beginning of activity. If it is so then he/she should be asked not to participate activity and be evacuated on medical grounds and should be asked to report to local health authority with his own expenses.
  • Strictly avoid eating gutkha, pan masala, cigarette or sniffing which induces spitting, coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching external surfaces and touching your face when in outdoors.
  • If the location of your adventure activity is too crowded then be prepared to leave or wait for the crowd to disperse/for your turn.
  • It is mandatory that a participant informs the organizers if he tests positive for Covid within 14 days of returning from adventure activity. It will help the organisers to inform and alert all other persons in the group, so that they can follow the medical/government norms in this regard. Here it is absolutely essential that the participant observes

transparency and informs the organizers/group leaders about his Covid test results.

  • Persons suspected of carrying items that may be used in an offensive or dangerous manner, or carrying out illegal activities within the site may be searched.
