The Black Velveteen, is a hot versatile band from Mumbai, India. They cover all genres of music ranging from Jazz, Pop, RnB, Reggae, Rock and Roll etc.The lead female vocalist Miss Giselle Pinto Music , a powerhouse singer who has been a backing vocalist for three years for well renowned music composer/singers like A.R. Rehman, director Rohan Sippy’s Broadway musical ‘Love and all that jazz’ and worked with musician Ranjit Barot and Leslie Lewis on shows like MTV Unplugged.

Sang for jingles like Fast Track, Odonil, Mid-Day etc. She is also the lead vocalist of Mumbai’s well renouned band ‘Darren Das and The Sixth Sense’ and has also appeared in movies like ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Rockstar’ .

Brendon D'souza, the vibrant counterpart with a dynamic stage presence has been performing for the past fifteen years with the top most bands in Mumbai. He has performed with the band ‘Hi Tide’ which was the official backup band for the ‘Colonial Cousins’ Leslie Lewis and Hariharan and has performed all over India, Dubai, Nepal and Bangkok/Thailand.

As a duo performed at the Renaissance, Powai for five years, the Sea Rock Sheraton, Not Just Jazz By The Bay, Indigo, The Palms, Oberoi, The Taj Gateway, Surat and the Taj resorts and Palaces, Mumbai, Palm Beach Rotana, Dubai and The Dubai International Seafarers center, Dubai etc. 

Black Velveteen is one of Mumbai’s most well-known bands and has performed at many venues across the city, The ITC Grand Maratha, The Palladium Hotel (Lower parel), The Taj Palace (Colaba), The J.W Marriott (Juhu), Out of The Blue (Bandra & Powai), Royal China (Bandra & VT), Café Infinito etc. to name a few.
