For Papa Rock- A Tribute To Amit Saigal

Most of you may not know that India was not always a country of bands playing their original songs. Most of you may not know how that came about. We got 2 words for you- Amit Saigal (6th July 1965 - 5th Jan 2012).

This man single handedly changed the Indian indie music landscape and nothing could make us prouder than offering a tribute to him on what would have been his 52nd birthday.

With this mammoth of a line-up:-

Demonic Resurrection: One of the oldest metal bands in the country today, Demonic Resurrection is a force to reckon with. Some immensely talented and respected names associated with the band, have amassed fans within the country and beyond in great numbers.

They played Great Indian Rock - GIR in the year 2010 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi alongside names like Enslaved, Meshuggah and TesseracT.

Demonic Resurrection won the Best Band award (popular choice), Drummer of the year (Virendra. G. Kaith aka Viru) at the JD Rock Awards.

MADBOY/MINK: Mesh of Nu-Funk, old-school Swing and dirty disco. Don't know how to react? Saba Azad says "...the sound is very new, people do not know how to respond." But the strength of this duo lies in its uniqueness. Known as the terror twins, MADBOY/MINK in a short time has gained noteity for their live electric sets having performed at some massively popular festivals in India and abroad.

The Riot Peddlers: Mumbai's hardcore punk rockers The Riot Peddlers has been keeping the punk fire burning high and bright. Formed in 2010, they have won fans "with it's cocky stage presence and hypercharged sets". Their debut EP 'Sarkasm' includes "bollywood songs" that parodies Shahrukh Khan hit 'Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jaana Sanam' and if you havent heard this, you have heard nothing at all! Trust us, they will raise hell! Psssst! We have heard they are getting guests!

The Riot Peddlers were the winners of Independence Rock( I-Rock) 25 and have played some of the countries biggest festivals.

BLEK: Formed in the year 2010, BLEK does power-pop like no other in the Indian indie circuit. From having won many accolades like the Best Emerging Sound for Ray-Ban's Never Hide Sounds and super reviews from all quarters, they have graced some of the major festivals in the country namely Hornbill Festival to Ziro Festival of Music to Bacardi NH7 Weekender and the most notable one being an invitation to perform at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, U.K.

They won the JD Rock Award for the Best Emerging Act in 2013.
