Welcome to the Olive Ridley Turtle beach or Velas Beach in Konkan Ratnagiri District in Maharashtra.

The village celebrates Velas Turtle Festival every year and we will take you through the beautiful journey of their birth and furthermore at this beautiful beach of VELAS. 

The Turtle Festival at Velas is annually organized by Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra (SNM) and the Kasav Mitra Mandal (KMM), during the period of February to March.

Velas is the birthplace of Nana Phadnis, one of the great prominent personalities in Maratha history. A statue of Nana Phadnis is present outside his house.

Attractions:

1) Harihareshwar temple

Surrounded by four holy hills Harihar, Harshinachal, Bramhadri and Pushpadri Harihareshwar is a region in Konkan which is amazingly beautiful with hills playing the perfect foil for a long stretch of pristine beach. The Harihareshwar temple built in the 16th century with the deities of Vishnu Brahma and Shiva is the primary attraction in Harihareshwar along with a beautiful stretch of beach.

2) Bankot Fort

Bankot is a square shaped fort. On the sides of Bankot fort, there is a dry moat (Revni) dugout in the Jambhya stone.

Jambiya stone is a particular type of stone adorning a purple shade and peculiarly it is incapable of storing water as the water invariable percolates through it owing to its much porous nature.

Itinerary of the event.

Day 0: 
Meeting Point: Pritam Hotel Dadar East at 09:45 pm and 10:00 pm departure 

Day 1: 

  • Reach Velas by 05.00am
  • Get fresh, Visit Velas Beach at 6 am for Turtle Festival
  • Return to the Village House
  • Breakfast.
  • Start for Bankot Fort (15 Minutes Trek).
  • Explore Bankot fort.
  • Return to Velas by 1 pm.
  • Lunch at Velas (Veg Konkani Food).
  • Visit Velas beach for Turtle - Festival in the evening at 5 pm,
  • Fun time at Velas beach.
  • Followed by Dinner.
  • Post Dinner, Night walk.
  • Retire for the day.

Day 2: 

  • Wake up at 5.30 AM
  • Visit Velas Beach for Turtle Festival in Morning at 6 am.
  • Have breakfast and Start for Harihareshwar Temple and Beach by Ferry.
  • Lunch at Harihareshwar.
  • Post Lunch, Start our return journey by 3 pm. 
  • Evening refreshment on the way.
  • Reach Dadar by 9:30 - 10 pm.

Things to Carry:

  • Identity proof (Must).
  • Water (At least 2 Ltrs).
  • TORCH with extra batteries (compulsory).
  • Towel, a napkin, Extra Pair of clothes,
  • Camera (Optional),
  • Personal toiletries, etc.
  • Medicine those if u require usually (Optional),
  • Good trekking shoes, an extra pair of socks.

  • Traveling from Dadar to Dadar by Private NON AC BUS,
  • Food Expenses,
  • Accommodation Charges. (Home Stay type Accommodation will be provided)
  • Turtle Festival and Velas Beach Entry Charges.

Exclusions:

  • Any personal expenses. 
  • Mineral water 
  • Insurance of any kind.
  • Medical hospitalization, evacuation, and related expenses.
  • Any item not covered under inclusions.

1. Please carry a valid ID proof along with the valid ticket.

2. High Ape is not responsible for any injury or damage occurring due to the event.

3. People in an inebriated state will not be given entry.

4. Being only a ticketing portal, High Ape does not take any responsibility for the activities going on inside or outside the event, as the entire responsibility of it is of the organizer/venue.

5. Please go through the details on the Event Details Tab and the Checkout page thoroughly before booking the tickets, as the tickets which are NOT booked in compliance with it will not come in the ambit of discussion.

6. Internet handling fee per ticket applied. Please check your total amount before payment.

7. Tickets once booked cannot be exchanged or refunded.

8. Unlawful resale (or attempted unlawful resale) of a ticket would lead to seizure or cancellation of that ticket without refund or other compensation.

9. Alcohol (if available) will be served only to guests above the legal drinking age (LDA) and on display of valid age proof.

10. In case a booking confirmation e-mail and SMS gets delayed or fails because of technical reasons or as a result of incorrect e-mail ID / phone number provided by the user etc, a ticket will be considered 'booked' if the payment has been processed by High Ape and you will have to contact our representatives for issue of tickets.

11. Arms and ammunition, eatables, bottled water, beverages, alcohol is not allowed from outside to the event. Food and beverages will be available inside the event.

12. Persons suspected of carrying items that may be used in an offensive or dangerous manner, or carrying out illegal activities within the site may be searched.

13. Venues/Organizers are solely responsible for the service; availability and quality of the events.
