Novlik is a psychedelic trance DJ and producer from Hyderabad, India. A hospitality manager turned psytrance artist, Novlik has been associated with music since the age of ten, but it wasn't until a music-oriented educational trip to Manchester, UK, that he was totally convinced to influentially contribute to the divine art of psychedelic trance.
Professionally trained in Hindustani classical music and having hosted and performed a plethora of events in the city of Hyderabad, the richness in Novlik’s music is a reflection of his unique journey. The year 2017, marking the distribution of his first album amongst other developments, has exposed his creativity globally and is making his style of music widespread.
Following the release of his debut solo album ‘Sacred Technology’ in 2010, Jez ‘Laughing Buddha’ has been going from strength to strength. His collaboration album 'Illusions and Collusions' released in June 2014 has cemented his position as an irreplaceable addition to any dance-floor or lineup. Gigs including appearances at Ozora, Boom, Sunburn, Atmosphere, Utopia, Glade, Maitreya, Psychedelic Circus, Indian Spirit, Indigo, Universo Paralello, Earthdance and multiple tours of India, Japan, Australia, Israel, Brazil, and many other countries have made 100% sure that Laughing Buddha is now a household name on the worldwide Trance scene!
With a career spanning nearly 20 years, from the early days of the Goa Trance scene and his involvement as co-producer on the seminal album ‘Cosmology’ on Transient Records as one half of Cosmosis, Laughing Buddha developed his solo career with releases on Flying Rhino, T.I.P. Records, Dragonfly (as Drum Druids) and other labels before moving on to the green and exciting pastures of the Nano Records team.
Jez “Buddha” is an experienced Live Act and DJ and anyone who has seen him perform will confirm that he lives up to the name of the Laughing Buddha! He brings a unique ego-free energy to every party he plays at, truly coming to life and invigorating the crowd with his driving high tech masterpieces and unique stage presence.
His recent collaborations include new tracks and remix work with Tristan as Fearsome Engine, Avalon, Outsiders, Killerwatts, Electric Universe, Eat Static, Space Tribe and many more. Every track is sounding better than the last with Jez, whose hard work over the last few years has really been attracting some serious attention from Psy lovers across the planet.
Sri Rama Murthy aka Murthovic is an independent Electronic music composer, sound designer and dj who has been working in the electronic music field for the last 18years. He acquired his basic compositional skills in Western Classical music from Hyderabad western music foundation and currently is learning Carnatic music, apart from dj gigs at various clubs and festivals across the country.
If some day in the future, if someone were to study the evolution of electronic music in Hyderabad, Murthovic’s contribution as one of the chief influencers will never go unnoticed. His relentless passion has seen him evolve his style of electronic music which is gravitated towards both indian and western music ideologies and practices.
Take a homegrown artist, add a number of chart topping productions on heavyweight international record labels, throw in DJ sets that have resonated across the nation, squeeze in a successfully launched imprint called Juicebox Music and there you've got a recipe for a musical trump card held by Praveen Achary. With a unique combination of 'Deep, Tech and Progressive House', his style has always gained him a lot of appreciation by fellow artists & fans alike.
Praveen's mix-sets are a testament to his adaptability and cohesion of his musical influences, all weaved together in a seamless manner. A regular host with his own show “Juicebox”, an extension of the label, on the world's leading progressive house station – friskyRadio, he has been part of the 'friskyLovesIndia' series twice, as well as being featured as friskyRadio's 'Artist Of The Week', a feat achieved by not too many.
Juggling a whole surfeit of musical hats, Praveen Achary strives to be ahead of the curve while staying true to his underground roots, one step at a time.
