Have you ever dreamt of escaping the maddening crowds of the city life and getting lost at a place not even found on Google? Well, that’s exactly what we’ve planned for you! Sandwiched on the border between the lush greeneries of Kerala and Karnataka, this campsite offers you the best of both worlds. Hidden away from the usual tourist crowds and offering a truly authentic wilderness experience with untouched and pristine settings all around.

The Aabhel trek takes you through picturesque locales with gushing streams and waterfalls at every corner and a breathtaking view of the sunset along with panoramic views of Kerala down below, which forms the icing on the cake. But the real hero of this experience is the campsite itself. Find your inner peace as you explore its stunning surroundings with coffee plantations, stream walks, paddy fields, a lake and a river cutting through them all, offering you sights which form the stuff of dreams.

DAY 0: 

• Leave Bangalore by 09:00PM

 DAY 1:

• Reach the campsite and freshen up
• Trek to Aabhaylu Peak
• Packed lunch during the trek
• Traditional Coorg style Dinner and Campfire
• Stay in Tents

DAY 2:

• River Side Trek and Coffee Plantation Walk
• Explore the campsite and its hidden treasures
• Visit Iruppu Falls
• Return to Campsite
• Relax during the evening with bonfire
• New Year Celebrations with soulful music
• Head to sleep
• Leave to Bangaloe on Jan 1st 2019 AT 10:00 AM

STAY:

• Accommodation in tents on double/triple sharing basis, separate for men & women
• Washrooms available
• Note: Carry your own blankets

MEALS:

• Breakfast on Day 1 & Day 2 and Day 3

GROUP SIZE:

• 12-21 Members
• We have an equal male to female ratio for most of our treks
• We require a minimum of 8 members to confirm the event
• In case we fail to obtain the required minimum, full refund or the option to transfer to any other event will be provided. (Option of transfer shall be subject to payment/refund of balance amount if any)

Day 1 :

An overnight journey from Bangalore will take you to our campsite nestled deep on the border between Kerala and Karnataka. Make sure you catch up on sleep beforehand as you don’t want to miss the magical sights leading up to the campsite. Once there, take a moment to grasp the lush greenery that surrounds you and take a breath of fresh air as you prepare yourself to leave behind the hustle and bustle of your daily lives and unwind to a simpler one.

After a truly authentic and sumptuous breakfast prepared with the most local of ingredients and dollops of love, you shall begin your trek up Aabhel peak. Be mesmerized as you explore the trail and maybe even create some of your own. What awaits you along the way are pristine waterfalls, streams and even glimpses of wildlife, but only if you look closely! Once at the peak, take in the panoramic views all around or while away your time doing absolutely nothing before we begin our descent to the base camp.

Once back at the campsite, give your tired legs a good rest as we huddle around a warm campfire and have a well-deserved dinner. Retreat to your comfy tents under the starry skies but not before a long night of fun, music, games and stories!

Day 2:

On our second day, we’ll explore our unexplored campsite as you stroll amongst coffee plantations and also learn a bit about the process of coffee making. Take a walk literally through a stream or skip along the banks of the Maani River as you unearth hidden gems all around. If you think the trip is over, you are grossly mistaken. Pack your bags and board the bus back to Bangalore but not before an adventurous trek up the majestic Iruppu falls.

Also known as Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, legend has it that Rama and Lakshmana, while passing along the Bhramagiri range whilst searching for Rama’s beloved, Sita, Rama asked Lakshmana to fetch him some water to drink. Lakshmana shot an arrow into the Brahmagiri hills and brought into being the river Lakshmana Tirtha and hence the name. Due to this legend, the Falls is believed to possess the power to cleanse sins and is widely visited by thousands of devotees on Shivaratri. Cleanse your sins or have a gala of a time as you refresh yourselves in its pristine waters before we take our journey back home to Bangalore.
