Welcome to homestay at the Pandava hills. We would like to invite you and your family to visit our beautiful homestay which is located at Sakleshpur in Karnataka. Sakleshpur or Sakleshapura is a hill station town and headquarters of Sakleshapura Taluk in Hassan district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Awe-inspiring botanical beauty, hairpin curves and winding roads, and densely canopied hills – Sakleshpur is one getaway that will charm you to no end! Whether its tranquillity and solitude that you seek, or some exciting trekking amidst the thickly wooded forests, this Sakleshpur homestay is bound to have you in raptures! Book at our Sakleshpur homestay The VasanthaParadise, and enjoy its cool, fresh air and serene surroundings! The town lies in the Malnad region on the magnificent hills of the biodiversity hotspot, the Western Ghats. It has a temperate climate surrounded with lofty green hills full of coffee, cardamom, pepper and areca plantations. Crops grown include coffee, rice, pepper, cardamom, ginger and tea with coffee being dominant, giving it the name "The coffee Town". These crops which contribute mainly to the economy of the taluk are grown in the surrounding villages and the entire taluk are brought to Sakleshapura city for sale. The town lies on the National Highway 48 (NH-48) which connects the port city of Mangalore, with the capital city Bangalore of Karnataka state. The nearest airport is Mangalore International Airport. The Western Ghats extend along the western edge of the taluk, separating Sakaleshapura from Dakshina Kannada district. The Hemavathi River, a tributary of the Kaveri, drains the eastern portion of the district, originating in Chikkamagalur districtand flowing through Sakaleshapura town. Two rivers originate in Sakaleshapura taluk and drain westward through the Ghats.
The Kempuhole River originates near Manjarabad Fort and flows westward to join the Netravati River, which empties into the Arabian Sea at Mangalore. The Kumaradhara River, another tributary of the Netravati, drains the southwestern portion of the taluk. These rivers form passes through the Ghats. The Bangalore-Mangalore Highway follows the Kempuhole River, as does the rail line linking Sakaleshapura to Dakshina Kannada. Bisile Ghat Road follows the Kumaradhara, linking the southwestern portion of the taluk to Kulkunda and Subrahmanya in Dakshina Kannada. Around the natural Waterfall Guests can paddle around this pool or may be read a book while gently floating on a tube. Depending upon the prevailing weather conditions guests can go trekking up to a distance of 12 kilometers in the Western Ghats taking in the exotic flora and fauna along the way.
Picnic in the Hills during winter and the summer is another attraction here. If in groups we will take our guests on a picnic in the hills and organize picnic food there. Guests can walk around the property in the numerous paths taking in the beauty around here, bird watching and so on. Guests with a yen for agricultural activities can try their hand at cardamom picking guided by our personnel here and this activity can be enjoyed during the monsoon right until the month of December. We have also planned a vegetable patch on our property and we welcome our guests to join us there and get their hands dirty. Guests interested in visiting a coffee estate will be taken to nearby estates in Sakleshpur and can walk around and learn the art of growing the famed Indian coffee. About Sakleshpur:
Sakleshpur is a hill station in the Western Ghats mountain range, in India’s Karnataka state. It’s surrounded by slopes covered with tea, coffee and spice plantations. The 18th-century, star-shaped Manjarabad Fort has sweeping mountain views. Trails lead to biodiverse Bisle Reserve Forest, home to cobras, deer and birds. To the northeast, Jenukallu Gudda peak offers vistas stretching as far as the Arabian Sea.
