About the destination:

Gandikota along the banks river Penna in Andhra Pradesh is known for its spectacular gorge formed by river Penna that cuts through the Erramala hills. This handsome piece of nature’s architecture has come to be known as the Grand Canyon of India by travelers who visit it and get bewitched by its beauty. Apart from the unmatched beauty of the gorge, the mystical charm of this fort makes a visit to this village all the more exciting for history lovers and adventure seekers.

Belum Caves are the second-longest caves in the Indian subcontinent open to the public. These caves are more than a thousand years old and were formed by a constant flow of underground water over a period of time.

Things to carry:

Basic essentials like toothbrush, soap, towel, etc
Shades/cap/sunscreen
Sleeping bags will be provided (no need to get blankets)
Full charge mobiles with power banks – to take a lot of selfies!
Selfie stick or DSLR if you are interested – the Gandikota Gorge is beautiful!
Your personal medications if any (I’ll get one first aid kit)
Odomos for insects & mosquitoes – as we are gonna camp!
A torch to show you the way at night.
Carry your jerkin/sweater – useful during the night journey
Recyclable garbage bags cover to put used/wet clothes
An extra garbage bag to dispose of your trash – we have a no-littering policy!
Carrying a handwash/sanitizer/tissues will help as we are using tourism board washrooms in Gandikota
Carry a little bit of cash for Sunday Lunch and misc. expenses
Don’t carry expensive items. You are responsible for your own belongings
Mandatory: A photo ID card soft copy like Aadhar or Driving License
Comfortable shoes/sandals – anything is fine as we have a mini trek to do!
Carrying a water bottle may help during the entire travel.
Keep your luggage light. Don’t bring suitcases, get backpacks instead. We shall put our luggage in the vehicle as we go out on different activities.

What’s next after booking tickets:

A Whatsapp group will be created for all the registered folks a night before the event

The facilities are basic, close to nature on this backpacking trip. Not for luxury seekers

Schedule

Day 0:

Start from Bangalore, an overnight journey of about 6 hours

Day 1:

Reach Gandikota tourist house early morning, freshen up & breakfast,
Head out to the Penna river (a mini-trek to the bottom of the Gandikota Gorge), play in the water & swim (life jackets will be provided), indulge in Kayaking,
Head back to tourist home to have lunch, relax for an hour,
Head out to the magnificent Fort, take a lot of selfies, visit The Grand Canyon of India and do a lot of bouldering by waking up the monkey inside all of us,
Shout out loud into the valley to listen to your echo from different directions!
Head to the campsite of tents pitched in the form of a circle and play a lot of games, socialize, revel in the warmth of the campfire, hot dinner & party till late night

Day 2:

Start the day with freshening up & breakfast,
Head to Mylavaram reservoir, marvel at the huge water body and scenic landscapes
Drive to Belum caves, visit the amazing caves and get to experience the new world underground,
Have lunch at a local restaurant in the village
Start back to Bangalore, reach home by night.

No alcohol & smoking during Treks & adventure activities. There would be separate window and space (usually at night) to have these at campsite/homestay for interested people
No Luxury. We assure awesome memories every trip, but not awesome facilities! We provide basic facilities in terms of food, travel & accommodation.
The itinerary is fixed. No special requests to change itinerary/schedule are permitted
Absolutely No littering during our travels. We swear to protect our environment.
Co-operate with the organizer(s) in following the schedule set for the day (especially getting up and getting ready in the morning). This will ensure travelers won’t miss out on the real fun part – that is traveling.
Every traveler is responsible for his/her for your own safety while traveling with Muddie Trails. Don’t indulge in any illegal or silly activity that causes harm to you or fellow travelers.
Every traveler is expected to sign a liability/waiver form given by the organizer(s) after boarding the vehicle that discharges Muddie Trails of any unexpected incident like injury/death/theft etc.
Unexpected situations: It may happen we do not cover all the places mentioned in the itinerary because of unpredictable reasons like bad weather, wild animal presence, abrupt blocking of sites by the police/forest department, delay in travel because of an issue with our group itself, traffic conditions etc. In most cases, if the time permits, organizer(s) will take travelers to an alternative place. But in some cases, we may have to skip a place altogether.
Travelers are expected to respect each other and help each other. Avoid discussing sensitive matters like sex, politics and religion/caste/race.
Using foul or abusive language, eve teasing, arguing with fellow travelers/organizer(s) and/or involving in physical assault will not be accepted and will stand a chance of being deserted by Muddie Trails.

No refund within 48 hours of event start time whatever be the reason (Health, Accident, Family crisis, Office issue or anything else)
