SLAM is a charity fundraising concert supported by The Humming Tree and organized by Guardians of Dreams, a Bangalore based social sector start-up. The proceeds of this event go towards improving the lives of children in need of care and protection. Come join us for a night to remember, with India's best bands coming together to support the cause!
About the Bands:
1. Thakara (Ernakulam): Youtube's newest indie darling,Thakara is a metaphor for music as madness and social critique. They sing stories not just as folklore but as truth itself. Distinguished by a signature sound and a sharp everyday-lyric, Thakara is as much a college crowd favourite as they are as festival standout.
2. When Chai Met Toast (Kochi): A band thar is infectiously happy! When Chai Met Toast takes inspiration from the lighter side of life to create music that is heart-warming, happy and smile worthy. The newest band from the land of coconuts, they gained fans quickly with a special acoustic setup and a unique brand of infectious happy music, which transcends age, genre and even language.
3. Aathma (Bangalore): Formed in January 2014, Aathma is a Contemporary Indian Rock band from Bangalore, India. The band was started with the mission to spread the happier aspect of music into peoples hearts. With dynamic stage presence and a peppy collection of songs, they really get the crowd going!
4. Mahesh Raghunandan (Bangalore): Mahesh Raghunandan is a singer, songwriter, and musician from Bangalore, coming to be regarded as one of the top upcoming songwriters in the indie scene. Besides his solo career, Mahesh is influenced by a wide range of musicians and genres and is often involved in multiple collaborative projects. Mahesh has supported international artists such as Lucy Rose, Luke Sital-Singh, and prominent artists in the country such as The Kutle Khan Project, Parvaaz, The Raghu Dixit Project among many others. Mahesh also performed at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender Festival and the Stage42 Festival in 2016.
