Located in the Hassan district of Karnataka, Sakleshpur is a beautiful hill station on the Western Ghats mountain range. The slopes of this region are adorned with tea, coffee and spice plantations. SIGHTSEEING -
- Shettihalli Rosary Church - Built by the French missionaries in India during 1860s, this church is a gorgeous example of Gothic-style architecture. The fact that this church remains submerged in water during monsoons makes it so special.
- The 18th-century, star-shaped Manjarabad Fort has sweeping mountain views.
- Pandavar Gudda - This ancient temple is said to be over 600 years old. It is atop a hill and overlooks the entire valley. Stand there and get mesmerized by the glorious views of the hills in the Western Ghats and the valley and wonder how someone thought of building a temple here.
- Gorur Dam / Hemavathi Reservoir - The dam is built across the river Hemavathi, which is a tributary of the river Kaveri and is surrounded by lush greenery on its side, which adds to the beauty of the dam and further appeals to migratory birds.

- Belur Chennakeshava Temple - This architectural marvel is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It was built by King Vishnuvardhana to commemorate the Hoysala victory over the Cholas in the battle of Talakad. The temple took 103 years to complete. The temple is adorned with exquisite carvings depicting scenes from the Upanishads, Mahabharata and Ramayana.
- Hoysaleshwara Temple at Halebidu - This is one of the largest temples of Lord Shiva in South India. It's a 12century monument under the protection of the ASI. The outer walls of this temple have intricate carvings and the temple has been described as an outstanding example of Hindu architecture.
