Let us connect to the roots of raw nature and spend some time making new friends, camping, watching the beautiful sunset and stare up at the starry skies. Covered with a vast expanse of lush green forests, the Kotagiri Trek is the perfect amalgamation of nature, serenity and cuisine. A typical forest trail crosses emerald blue lakes, frothy waterfalls and a large ambit of tree plantations.

It is characterised by very rich plant diversity and exotic and endemic animal species along with two endangered animals – Lion-Tailed Macaque and Nilgiri Tahr. Pack your bags to wander in the wilderness and be mesmerised by the beauty of sheer beauty of the Nilgiri mountain range. Experience the cool weather and be bewitched by the aroma of tea gardens. Spend a night in a tent, under a star-lit sky and share some exciting stories with strangers over the barbeque. Travel! Before you run out of time.

Spend some time in the lap of nature, away from the work deadlines and concrete life. Pitching tents in the wilderness, making barbeque, relaxing in the undulating hills, all this surely will be a concoction of thrill and delight.

Leave from Bangalore by 10:00 PM

Reach the Campsite by 8:30 AM – freshen up and have breakfast
Start the Kotagiri Ridge Trek
Have packed lunch during the trek
Visit the Cave House
Explore the Tea Estates
Enjoy the sunset from Nilgiri Valley
Return to the Campsite by evening
Have dinner around a bonfire and spend the night stargazing

DAY 2

Visit the Foothills of the Dale River
Visit the Nilgiri View Point
Depart for Bangalore, and have a self-sponsored lunch on the way
Reach Bangalore By 10 PM

Day 1 – Trek to Kotagiri

We will reach the campsite by 8:30 AM, and after some rest and a hearty breakfast, we will start the Kotagiri trek. Explore the adventurous trail with lush green forests and streams entangled around it and pamper yourself with the natural bliss of the Kotagiri hills. We will be given packed lunch during the trek.

After traversing the cave house, we will head to the tea estates. Experience the intensely aromatic tea grown there and after having a sip, we will wait to witness the enchanting sunset scene from Nilgiri Valley.

Then, we will head back to the campsite, and after some rest and dinner, we will sit under the starry skies and be spellbound by the beauty of the glittery sky.

Day 2 – Visit Catherine Falls and Nilgiri View Point

We will kick-start the day with a visit to the double-cascaded Catherine Falls. After spending some time at the Nilgiri View Point, we will proceed to return to Bangalore.

Following are your pickup/drop locations. You could let us know which would be appropriate to you before the trek in advance. Also note, the drop points would be the same as pick up.

- New Shanti Sagar Hotel | 10:30 PM – Old Airport Road, Domlur, Bengaluru, Karnataka
- Swad E Punjab | 11:00 PM – Teacher’s Colony, HSR Layout, Bengaluru, Karnataka

Kindly note the timings for the above pickups, would be updated to you a day before the trek.

Things To Carry

We request you to kindly carry the following. It’s better to be prepared rather than not prepared.

Yourself (That’s most important – after all you paid us!)
Rucksack (Just stuff your things in!)
2 water bottle – 1 litre each (Proper hydration is mandatory)
Torch/Headlamp (It’ll be really dark at night.)
Portable charger (You might just want to keep your phone aside, but then, selfies toh banta hai!)
Deodorant (You shouldn’t stink!)
Paytm balance (Thanks to Demonetization)
Money (You’ll not need it, but do carry some!)
Energy Food ( Chocolate bars, Electrolyte drinks – Glucon-D, etc ) (You can carry some extra – we don’t mind to share!)
Raincoat / Bag cover (Of course, you don’t want your rucksack to get all wet!)
An extra pair of clothes, socks, undergarments, T-Shirt (And we don’t want you to walk in drenched clothes!)
Flip-flops (Just to laze around the campsite.)
First Aid Kit (along with medicine as per your personal requirement)
Toilet kit (Not much would be required – just your toothbrush would do)
Towel (Oh! We believe in saving water. Let’s ditch bathing for two days!)

If you cancel 7 days before the date of event:
- 95% refund will be provided. (Payment gateway charges will be deducted)
If you cancel 3-6 days before the date of event:
- 50 % of the actual amount of the trek. (Payment gateway charges will be deducted)
If you cancel 48 hours before the date of event:
- No refund would be provided.
- Last minute cancellations due to work, health issues etc. would not be entertained and no refund or transfer shall be allowed for the same.
Additional charges would be deducted (based on from where you booked) if you cancel the trek at any given date (along with the scenario described above), as payment gateway/event listing charges.
For all the above choices, you can transfer your tickets to your friends. We would be more than happy to have them on board and you could save your hard earned money.
